FrenchAll primary school pupils learn French within a differentiated language programme for 5 hours a week (first and second school year) or 4 hours a week (third and fourth school year). The aim of the foreign language lessons (Français langue étrangère = Fle) is to make the linguistic integration easier for the children. Pre-existing language skills are consolidated and developed. Advanced pupils learn to improve their ability to express themselves and are introduced to reading and writing. The bilingual children of all ages learn in French mother tongue lessons (Français langue maternelle = Flm) and use textbooks from the French education system. The children are familiarized with the culture of the host country by participating in seasonal and local activities. EnglishIn a two hour, voluntary English work group, pupils from class 2 to 4 discover the English language or can improve and develop their pre-existing knowledge. GermanFor French children, the iDSP offers German lessons for beginners and advanced pupils in the “Wednesday school”. |
