“Teaching means bringing something out of people and not putting something into them”. Friedrich Fröbel (1782-1852), German teacher and founder of the first kindergarten in 1837.
The team of educators and the children welcome you, dear readers, to the “Villa Kunterbunt”!
In our kindergarten “Villa Kunterbunt“ the pedagogic tutors want to help your children learn to cope with life. We want to support them in developing their individuality and personal identity. In doing so, we try to encourage them to become self confident, responsible and sociable personals. This is achieved on the basis of a holistic education.
Children learn best when they are stimulated with all their senses and feelings – when they learn to comprehend the world with their minds, their hearts and their hands. In our deliberately mixed age-groups we give priority to values such as consideration, tolerance and mutual assistance. We also challenge the children to become active, curious and open-minded. In an atmosphere of affection, confidence, security and recognition children learn to deal with their own personalities and with their environment. We also encourage them to develop into independent personals by continuously building up their self-confidence.
According to the educational mission of the kindergarten, our role is to support the family by helping the holistic and individual development of each child. Besides encouraging the children´s process of self-discovery we aim at imparting values and behavioural norms of our society. This why the relationship between the child and the educator is as important to us as exemplary behaviour.
Another objective is to introduce the children to a new culture. In the Villa Kunterbunt they are confronted with both the German and French languages and cultures every day. We attach great importance to German and French traditions and festivals, which we discuss and celebrate with the children. They have the chance to learn social cohabitation and to grow up into cosmopolitan, open-minded individuals.
Much of what the children learn in kindergarten does not show immediately at home. But they nevertheless experience and learn a lot – these are qualities that strengthen them for life.
(Examples for successful learning in kindergarten – see concept)
If one plays enough whilst small – One carries treasures within oneself, From which one can profit for the rest of one´s life, One then knows what it means to have a warm, secret world inside oneself, Which gives strength in difficult times. Astrid Lindgren
In this sense the educational team of the VILLA KUNTERBUNT greets you warmly, always on the move for you and your children
